Deep garnet/purple, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon has a nose of fresh blackcurrants, blackberries and black plums with hints of fertile earth, pencil shavings and dried herbs. Medium to full-bodied and a little lean in the mid-palate, it is otherwise fresh and pure, has chewy tannins and a medium to long finish.
biodynamic Tempranillo. Walter Clappis produces this dark, aromatic version from biodynamic vineyards, ageing for a short period in old oak barrels to retain as much fruit character in the final wine. The nose is redolent of fruitcake, spice and all things nice, with a rich, mineral palate laced with silky strawberry and dried fruits.

It is dark cherry in colour, with soft black fruit flavours, touched with vanilla and spice.

This long established estate in the south of Chianti Classico consistently produces very classic and quietly impressive wines. The vineyards are all mature (25 years plus), relatively high altitude and very well sited. Low yields are very much the order of the day and vinification is traditional and very conducive to emphasising classic Sangiovese flavours and the terroir of the region around Berardenga.Warm spicy nose with ripe plums and savoury notes. Fresh yet generous palate with good structure and attractive cherry and plum fruit.
Goes well with all meat dishes however prepared. A perfect partner to a Leg of New Season Welsh Lamb stuffed with wild garlic, rosemary and anchovies. Tempranillo (75%), Garnacho (15%), Graciano and Mazuelo (10%), Colour:Vibrant red leading slightly towards amber. Nose: Light fresh texture with notes of vanilla and dried berry aromas. Taste: Rich, very dry, smooth, developed. Firm tannins and good balance.
